2. Establish the Budget

Planning on covering the entire cost? Parents helping? Have the conversation and give yourself a limit before you go shopping – most stores ask for a budget in advance.

3. Finalize Your Shopping Group

There’s no established rule to who you can bring, but: have people there who 100% support you, and also won’t say “yes” to everything you try on. Who can be honest, but in a kind and respectful way. Many attend appointments solo to block out any and all opinions, too.

4. Book The Appointments

You’ll need to start locking them in sooner than you think. Lead times for most designers are 8-12 months to allow for multiple fittings and alterations. If you have an expedited timeline, it can add a significant amount to the cost of your dress.
